Who we are

A small aviation team inside a Canberra software company

Fyshh has designed, built and supported digital services for governments, household-name corporations and small businesses from Canberra since 1999, and has built iPhone apps since the first iPhone. Along the way we have built social networks, sports team apps, autonomous drone control software, customs and border control systems, and connected-vehicle hardware and dashboard displays, most of them by using consumer-grade devices to do work that once needed expensive professional hardware. Fyshh Aero brings that experience to general aviation, where the problems are different: a noisy cockpit, a suspended watch app, a barometer that quietly stops, and a pilot whose attention belongs to the aeroplane.

FLT began when Fyshh's CEO, James Hodge, and his teenage daughter started flight training together under the RAAus pathway in 2025. Their instructors quickly noted her natural aptitude for flying and his comparative lack of it, and the friendly competition that followed needed evidence: the accuracy of a touchdown, the altitude ballooning in a steep turn, the centreline track on approach, captured in a way the two of them, and their instructors, could compare objectively. A watch-only engine timer and landing counter became, through weekly test flights, a phone-first flight recorder and debrief tool with a landing and turn analysis suite and a way for schools to share their instructors' demonstrations with students.
